A Quick Update (Written and posted from my iPhone)
Hola everyone. As I write this I am currently chilling in a hammock on the rooftop of a hostel that’s located just off of a beach in Cancun. In about an hours time I’ll be getting a bus to a town called Tulum, about 90 minutes away. It’s a blissful place full of cenotes to dive in, Mayan Ruins to explore and of course the stunning white sand beaches that the Yucatan is known for.
So why haven’t I posted in a while?
Well, to answer that question, I’ve been working at a summer camp in Maine for most of the summer and life as a camp counsellor is pretty hectic. I have so many posts I want to write about my time in Maine, but you’ll have to bear with me for a little while longer for this very important and annoying reason – my laptop charger is fried!
Yep, of all the things that could break whilst I’m away backpacking, it had to be that! I had planned on blogging and vlogging my month-long backpacking trip down the East Coast of America and then onto Mexico, but alas you cannot plan for these things. Just know I have a notebook and pen handy and have planned to catch up with everything once I’m back home in the UK.
How long have I got left out here?
Well, I flew over to America in June and I currently have 2 weeks left here in Mexico before I fly home and then have a day to pack for my upcoming trips to Turkey (to chill, hell yes) and Ireland (Tbex conference in Killarney I’m coming for you).
I can’t wait to catch you all up on my adventures, and perhaps I may get an opportunity to post again whilst I’m out here (fingers crossed one of my hostels has a computer) but if not, I cannot wait to share this crazy adventure with you all. Really it has been crazy! I’ve lived and worked at a gorgeous camp in Maine, been in the audience for a TV show recording in New York, kayaked to islands in Boston Harbour, eaten amazing street food around Mexico, seen hundreds of baby turtles and obviously got a selfie with a giant moose made entirely of chocolate! I have made some fantastic friends from all over the world who have undoubtedly helped make this experience complete.
So until I can catch you all up properly, adiós from Mexico.
