See 12 places you’ve never been before
First off, there are soo many places to see in the world, and chances are if you’re reading this, there’s so much more you want to see. Why not take on a challenge that lets you see 12 new places?
Challenges make you a better person
Self-improvement is an important part of life. Challenges help you to test your personal limits, learn from experiences, grow mentally and basically to help you become the best version of yourself you can be.
Theodore Roosevelt once famously said: “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.”
Facing challenges make you stronger. Why not keep a journal and see the difference in yourself after the 12 months of this challenge are over?
Learn something new every month
I’ve always believed you should never stop learning. Knowledge is the key to living a full life. Travelling is one of the best ways to learn new things. Discover the customers of a new culture or even start to grasp the basics of a new language. Why not take a trip with the intention of learning a new skill. You could take a cooking class in Italy, or learn to ride horses in the American Midwest. After the year is over, you’ll have a collection of 12 new skills, alongside all the epic travel stories.
It will Encourage you to spend on experiences, not things
To travel more, you have to make travel a priority. This may mean spending less money on the things you once did. You may realize that skipping your daily Starbucks order will afford you a return flight every month. After experiencing the joy traveling can give you, giving up that coffee for that trip will seem like a no-brainer. Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.
Traveling little and often fits if you work full time
Taking on this challenge actually helps you fit in travel around work. Think about it, what do you do on weekends? Bank holidays? You could be traveling. You don’t have to go far and you don’t have you quit your job to see more of the world. Plan a road trip or catch a flight to a neighboring country you are yet to visit.
Spead the cost of travel throughout the year
One obstacle that holds a lot of us back from realizing our travel dreams is money. But, that doesn’t have to be the case. Taking one trip a month helps you spread out the cost of travel. Set aside a proportion of your monthly wage that you can afford to spend on travel, and plan your trip depending on your budget – instead of letting the trip dictate how much you need.
It is something to look forward to every month
It can be so easy to get caught up in the day to day of life, and before you know it a year has passed without any of those stand out memorable moments that make life spectacular. Having something planned each month to look forward to means you are always excited about something. In that respect, you get more joy from life as a whole.

Use some of your 12 trips to see where your friends live. Chances are they will be thrilled to show you around there hometown or city and might even invite you to stay with them.
